Physical Properties of Modified Polyphenylene Oxide as a Composite Material for Hydrogen Fuel Cell Stack Enclosure Suitable for Injection Molding

There is an increasing need for securing development technology suitable materials to obtain more productive and lightweight automobile parts, including hydrogen fuel cell stack enclosures. Due the poor moldability of Poly-Phenylene Oxide (PPO), which excels in terms mechanical, thermal, electrical properties, studies are being actively conducted commercialize modified-PPO (mPPO). However, there a lack regarding injection molding analysis pre-verification suitability process developing engineering plastic resins. Thus, this study utilized following procedure: (1) it measured physical properties mPPO, (2) selected sample candidates, (3) applied Design Of Experiments (DOE) conduct analysis, finally, (4) proposed enclosure-dedicated mPPO due its molding. The results demonstrated excellent with mixing ratio PPO 50%/Poly-Amide66(PA66) 50% among 16 samples by investigating fill time, deflection, time reach ejection temperature, void phenomenon cycle time. Therefore, 50%/PA66 will exhibit best increased productivity manufacturing
